The Ascension Movement is, as its name provides, a movement about rising up. It is a movement that will benefit those that want real, grass-roots change and improvement. Many will be led to water; hopefully all will drink. In its entire scope, the Ascension Movement will serve all races and socio-economic backgrounds. Energy will be drift to those with the greatest need, primarily the low-income and our children in the public school systems. We mention schools because ultimately, more than anything else, the Ascension Movement has as its goal the building of new schools in the inner cities that will bring new challenges, greater educational proficiency and higher expectations to its students.
Along the way, the Ascension Movement will make inroads into various social systems, particularly education, business and politics. We want to help balance the scales of justice in society. We want our children to re-discover the value of books. We want our children to hoard knowledge. We want our high school graduates to recognize the legacy and importance of HBCUs. We want to strengthen the infrastructure of all infrastructures, our people. And in doing so, we will always have the same goal and effect: that of improving our world in tangible and measurable ways in a unified fashion for all of our citizens.
